Background: |
Protein NDRG4 is a cytoplasmic protein that may play a role in the early postnatal development and function of neuronal cells. It may be involved in the regulation of mitogenic signalling in vascular smooth muscles cells. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but the full length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. Expressed only in brain and heart. Isoform 1 and isoform 2 are only expressed in brain. Isoform 3 is expressed in both heart and brain. Belongs to the NDRG family. |
